Still here!

Helllooo lovely little polka dot bloggy space! I kind of forgot you existed! I have had a crazy busy summer but hopefully now we are going to become very well aquainted.

I'll just carry on like I have been writing here most days for weeks, months, years, okay??

Great.

So, last weekend I took part in a family fun day. I did one a few weeks ago and it was a great success! I loved it.

This one? Not so much. I refuse to be negative so instead I will say that I believe there were a few resons for the poor interest in our tables, the torrential rain being one of them.

Regardless of the issues, I was super pleased with my wee table :-) I tried lots of new props and display items and was pleased with the results!

(please excuse the phone pics! I forgot to take new batteries for my big camera:-( )

I was especially excited by my new vintage style brooches, corsages and hairclips

And my fabby new hairband display handmade by my Dad :-)

I have also been dipping my tootsies into the pool of "occasion" items! LOTS nore ideas for this , watch this space.

So to sum up - it poured with rain and I  brought home every single thing that I took with me (except my umberella which broke!) .
On the bright side - I am more than ready for my next craft fair on the 16th! yippee !

Happy New Year 2012!

Happy happy new year folks! I hope you all had a wonderful festive season. We had a lovely, but busy, yet relaxing time. Just perfect.

I was completely thrilled and super excited for Polka dot sweetheart goodies to be under so many Christmas trees! I didn't get pictures of everything as a lot of it was finished and packed up in the week running up to Christmas. Eek!

A few gifts in my "classic polka dot sweetheart" colour combinations were nestled in tissue and tucked into paper bags, just waiting to be opened on Christmas morning.

This loveloy girl has found a new home where she will hopefully enjoy plenty of time in the kitchen!
(good thing really, I almost kept her for myself!)

A few cup sleeves will be hugging some hot chocolate, tea or coffee this year.

And keeping fingers warm in the cold weather, but not too warm.

Lots of hair accessories made their way into those little paper bags, I am looking forward to seeing these little cuties adorning some cute little heads!

If you have found your way here after receiving a gift with my little card attached, then please allow me to welcome you into my little polka dot corner of the world. I hope you like your gift and you will enjoy following along on our journey!

May 2012 be a happy, healthy and prosperous year for you all xx

A first for Polka Dot Sweetheart!

At the weekend I took part in my first ever craft event. Luckily I had some first class peeps to keep me company!

The preparation was a lot more intense than I expected and I proclaimed (more than once and very loudly!) that I would never do another fair. But I feel much more positive now, I think I will try to join in with another local event nearer Christmas time. At the very least I have an idea of what sold so I can avoid the time consuming things that didn't sell.
I was really pleased with my little corner and it all pulled together and co-ordinated in the end, I think.

My little felt flowers and brooches were so much more popular than I expected. I am thrilled!! I think they are so cute!

If you are reading this blog after picking up my card at the fayre, Welcome!
I hope you will pop in again and say hello. Thanks to everyone who supported us in our little venture xx

The cutie patootie.

I have another flower in my folksy account, this one has an interesting history! I really like her, I had to think twice about offering her up, but she needs a new home.

Here she is

Beautiful cream floral fabric flower with a sweet little button centre,
This would be a beautiful accessory for any coat, cardi.

Approx dimensions of flower are 4.5" x 4.5" and it is around 2" front to back.

I have mounted this one onto a brooch pin.

As it is quite large I think it would even look fabulous pinned onto a bag.
